Ο Ιβάν Μενγκλέμπεη ζει και προπονείται στο νησί της Κρήτης και πιο συγκεκριμένα στα Χανιά. Εκτός του πρωταθλητισμού, ο Ιβάν σπούδασε στο Τμήμα Επιστήμης Φυσικής Αγωγής και Αθλητισμού του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας, στα Τρίκαλα. Εκτός από τις συμμετοχές και τις διακρίσεις του στη σφυροβολία, έχει επίσης συμμετάσχει και σε εγχώριες διοργανώσεις άρσης βαρών με επιτυχία.
